An opportunity to meet a woman who changed history.  Congregation Kol Ami, 252 Soundview Ave, White Plains will be honoring Claudette Colvin on Sunday, April 28 from 2 to 3:30 PM.

Claudette Colvin is a great civil rights pioneer. Before there was Rosa Parks, there was Claudette Colvin, age 15. She refused to take a seat in the back of a Montgomery Alabama bus. 

 

She now resides in the Bronx and will receive Kol Ami’s 1st “Be the Light Award for Social Justice.”
