traffic consultant report on s Greenburgh school consolidation proposal is attached
Release Date: February 22, 2019

The Greenburgh Central School District, through an engineering/planning/traffic consultant, conducted an environmental review (an Environmental Impact Statement) as part of the SEQRA (State Environmental Quality Review Act) process in support of its plans to consolidate school operations on the Warburg Campus. When the Town of Greenburgh became aware of these environmental studies, the Town contracted the services of a separate and independent traffic consultant to review the school district’s traffic studies related to the consolidation plan. Although school districts are permitted to make capital improvements such as new buildings and facilities without the need for site plan or other local Town land use approvals, the Town of Greenburgh is identified as an Involved Agency in the school district’s SEQRA, or environmental review process. Involved Agencies contribute to environmental review processes with local knowledge, baseline data-collection assistance, and review of documentation, alternatives, and mitigations.

On Tuesday, March 5th at 10:00am the traffic consultant utilized by the Town of Greenburgh (Kimley-Horn) to assist with traffic review of the Greenburgh Central School District’s Environmental Impact Statement will appear at a Town Board work session to summarize their review, which is included as a PDF attachment. Representatives of the Greenburgh Central School District, New York State Department of Transportation, and local civic associations will be invited to attend. The meeting is open to the public.

The report is attached.
