Groundbreaking has been set for Thursday at 11:30 AM at the new assisted living facility on Dobbs Ferry Road (former Frank’s nursery). The town had sold the vacant property last year to Capitol Seniors Housing. They expect to construct a 101 unit assisted living and memory care facility. The assisted living facility has the support of the community. A rendering of the building is attached. The community is invited to attend the ceremony. The Town of Greenburgh, along with the Villages of Elmsford and Tarrytown, and the City of White Plains were the recipients of an inter-municipal grant in the amount of $250,000 from the New York State Thruway Authority as part of a Community Benefits Program Agreement associated with the New NY Bridge Project. The grant is funding a Route 119 Complete Street Design Plan focusing on opportunities to update the Rt. 119 corridor with pedestrian/cycling/vehicular safety measures. Together with a Consortium of municipal representatives and local residents, a consulting team led by Nelson Nygaard will draw from existing studies and plans, public meetings, and technical expertise to pilot and document a related implementation plan. The first of two upcoming public meetings will be held this Saturday, January 13th 1 -3pm at the White Plains Library, 100 Martine Avenue. A second public meeting will be held Thursday, January 18th 6 – 8 pm at Elmsford Village Hall, 15 S. Stone St. Join your friends, neighbors and the Rt. 119 team at the first round of public meetings.
