PLEASANT SURPRISE--SOME CONSTITUENTS COMPLIMENTING POSTAL SERVICE FOR IMPROVEMENTS, MAIL SERVICE AFTER YEARS OF NON STOP COMPLAINTS In 2014, after receiving numerous complaints about the quality of our Postal Service, I posted a message on the town e list asking residents for feedback. Within hours I received 80 complaints -- mail delivered to wrong addresses, not delivered at all. Medicines not being delivered. Bills not being received. Since 2014 I have forwarded hundreds of complaints to the Postal Service. Last year I wrote to the United States Postmaster in Washington highlighting the problem And, got the chance to speak directly with the Chief Operating Officer of the United States Postal Service, David Williams who promised to work to make things better. He assigned Richard Conte, district administrator the responsibility of addressing complaints. I still get complaints. Millions of letters are processed at the White Plains district office. It's inevitable that there will always be some errors (nothing is perfect). But --I also feel that the Postal Service is trying to address problems. People are starting to notice improvements. Richard Conte told me that every complaint is given attention, they have focused more attention on training and are monitoring sections of the town where there have been complaints, taking steps to improve service. These are some of the complimentary letters about the Postal Service I received yesterday. After non stop complaining - it's nice to be able to say to the US Postal Service-- THANK YOU for trying to improve service in our area. I hope that service continues to improve. Feel free to continue to e mail me with your concerns and compliments. It's important that you be able to rely on the Postal Service for accurate mail delivery. PAUL FEINER
