STORM UPDATE...garbage collection still on for tomorrow... hartsdale parking district update
Release Date: October 28, 2012

I spoke with the Commissioner of Public Works a short time ago. We expect to collect garbage tomorrow. Town Hall will be open - although it's possible that some employees will stay home and use some of thier vacation time or personal time.

Metro North will shut down this evening at 7 pm. Depending on the impact of the storm tomorrow into Tuesday service may not be restored until Wednesday. The HPPD will open the Site F garage to residents of East Hartsdale Avenue this afternoon . We will post storm info on our website, Hartsdaleparking.com. Metered parking on the street will be suspended on Monday and we will decide on Monday whether to extend that. Metered parking will not be suspended in the lots or in the Site A garage so as not to impact our local businesses. ALL AVENUE RESIDENTS INQUIRING ABOUT EMERGENCY PARKING SHOULD BE DIRECTED TO SITE F ONLY. The Site F garage is located behind the Metro North station. We expect that two of our lots and perhaps the lower level of site A may have to be closed due to flooding. Obviously we don't want to invite anyone to park in areas that may flood. We are hoping the town will make their lots available to residents outside of the east Hartsdale avenue community. Anyone parking in Site F should expect to move their vehicles once MTA restores service as we must at that point accommodate permit holders. Residents should be advised that they park at their own risk as we can't control the damage that may be sustained from this storm.
