GOVERNOR SIGNS LEGISLATION AUTHORIZING TOWN TO LEASE TENNIS COURTS AT AF VETERAN PARK
Release Date: August 02, 2012

GOVERNOR SIGNS LEGISLATION AUTHORIZING TOWN TO LEASE TENNIS COURTS AT ANTHONY VETERAN PARK
Assemblyman Tom Abinanti called me earlier today today with the good news—Governor Andrew Cuomo signed the legislation authored by Senator Andrea Stewart Cousins and Assemblyman Abinanti that permits the town to lease out our tennis facilities to a private company.  The legislation was just signed and now will become law! A special thank you to the Governor, Senator Cousins and Assemblyman Abinanti for their hard work- helping the town.  The town expects to receive significant revenue from the lease and tennis enthusiasts will be able to enjoy tennis year round since a tennis bubble will be built (at no expense to the taxpayers). An updated tennis bubble RFP will be posted on the town website: www.greenburghny.com. Yesterday an applicant meeting and site tour was attended by 5 possible vendors. They all requested that the town extend the tennis bubble RFP submission to September 4th , the day after labor day. I am very pleased that there is so much interest in this proposal.  Contact Gerry Byrne or Joe Lucasey for more info: 693-8985 about the RFP process or e mail gbyrne@greenburghny.com.

GAME ON VOTE RESCHEDULED TO 10 PM TONIGHT
Councilmembers Ken Jones and Francis Sheehan  have been meeting with the Town Attorney’s office  all morning reviewing the terms of the proposed lease with Game On.  A vote that had been scheduled for this morning has been rescheduled for 10 PM tonight.  All the Board members have been reviewing the comments, e mails, suggestions we have been receiving from residents. Thank you for your input.
