POST HURRICANE UPDATE...INSURANCE...WE NEED DRY ICE
Release Date: August 29, 2011

  • Dry Ice:  For those without power, Con Edison is distributing free dry ice today (Monday) from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. at the Mount Ksico, Chappaqua and Mamaroneck train stations and at the Yorktown Triangle Shopping Center. I have requested Con Ed to ALSO OFFER DRY ICE TO RESIDENTS OF GREENBURGH. We have lots of people still out of power.
  • Insurance claims: If you have homeowner's insurance and sustained any damage, start collecting documents to support any claim, Visit the NYS Insurance Department Web site at www.ins.state.ny.us to learn more about insurance and natural disasters. Flood damage is often not covered under many policies.  I will be contacting our Congressional representatives and will ask if FEMA will be offering residents who are impacted by the floods any reimbursements/loans and what process they should use to apply for the FEMA assistance.

  • Received some good news from a few residents early this morning that their power was restored last night. I hope that progress will continue to be made re: restoration of power to Greenburgh residents. It's unacceptable that some Greenburgh residents will be out of power till Thursday night when NYC customers will all have their power restored by Tuesday night.
