What is happening to WESTHAB property
Release Date: June 25, 2007

A number of residents of the town have inquired about the WESTHAB property near the old Town Hall/library. This property used to be a Howard Johnson's. Then it was turned into a homeless shelter. Last year the shelter closed down. The property is within the boundaries of the Village of Elmsford but impacts residents of unincorporated Greenburgh. I contacted Elmsford Mayor Robert Williams and received the following information.
PAUL FEINER

The owner of Westhab has applied and gotten a demolition permit to demolish all the buildings on the property, which he did.
He is curently working on plans to build there. There has been discussion about a Hotel. The first plan he submitted to us we rejected. We are waiting to schedule him again to see us to see his next idea.
After we look at something we might like, we will then send letters to all the residents to ask them to come to a meeting to hear there thoughts of any plan for the property. We will not approve anything without first hearing from the neighbors.

Thank you for your concerns, and it is always a pleasure to work on items of mutual concerns of our residnts.
Bob
