Golden Idol" Vocal Competition Sept 15th
The Theodore D. Young Community Center and the White Plains Senior Center have scheduled the First "Golden Idol" Vocal Competition for Friday.September 15th,2006. Like the popular TV Show "American Idol", participants will have on opportunity to sing a song of their choice,then have judges rate the performance. Unlike the TV Show, the Event will use TV screens to display lyrics via karaoke cds. The event is open to everyone either wishing to sing or to enjoy the performances. All are invited to perform including novice singers to professionals. It's asked that those interested in singing be 50 and older. Award categories will include male,female, plus individuals and groups.
Admission is free. Lunch is served at 11:30am. Cost is 2.00 for those 60 and older, 3.50 for those under 60 yrs.
Those interested in singing or would like lunch need to pre register by calling 989-3622 or 422-1423 before Sept 8th.
The Event is taking place at the Theodore D. Young Community Center, 32 Manhattan Ave, Greenburgh.
