YOU CAN AVOID LINES BY PAYING ON LINE OR BY PAYING BY MAIL

If you want to know how much you can pay you can find out by clicking on the link at the top of the Greenburgh website. You only need to give them your address.  Once you get that info you can pay online (there is a  credit card fee) or you can write a check, have it postmarked before December 31 and mail it to Greenburgh Receiver of Taxes, Town Hall, 177 Hillside Ave, White Plains 10603.  I recommend that if you use the post office that you get the mail certified since the postal service doesn’t always deliver the mail to the right address.

If you want to pay the 2^nd half of the school tax on line there is a different link—at the bottom of the home page of the town of Greenburgh website: www.greenburghny.com (left side_ Simply click on the Greenburgh home page www.greenburghny.com. Follow the instructions and your checking account will be debited the amount.

If you pre paying your town/fire district taxes and also want to pay the 2^nd half of the school tax for 2017 you should write two separate checks.

We set up the on line payment system  for the town/fire district taxes within days and was unable to find a vendor who could set up a system to accept electronic transfers (with no fee) quickly. We learned that pre- payment of town/fire taxes was an option on Friday in the late afternoon. Met on Saturday morning. The head of our MIS department, Dipak Pandya, cancelled a vacation out of the country and worked on this all week.  I have been in touch with the Governor’s office many times since Friday  (including a few times on Christmas day)–they called me today to check up to see how everything was working out.  Appreciate their advice and arranging for a phone call with the counsel to the NYS Tax Office. 

Finally – I’m trying to personally return every call I received. And want to answer every e mail. But, I have been swamped with hundreds of calls, e mails. If I don’t get to you, please accept my apologies. Will try..

Property Tax Payments 

As a convenience to our taxpayers, the Town of Greenburgh offers the option of paying town taxes online.  Using this option is fast, easy and safe.  In just a few minutes, the transaction will be complete with 5 simple steps.

You can pay via credit/debit card. There is a variable IntelligentRate™ for paying by credit/debit card. Using IntelligentRate™ provides a card rate based on the agreements made by your card issuer (debit cards tend to offer the most savings but each card has it's own terms and conditions). Credit/debit card payments can be made with Mastercard or Visa.

To make online payments for multiple parcels, each parcel must be paid individually.

The website shuts down every Thursday morning from 1:45 AM to 5:00 AM Eastern Time for routine maintenance.

STEP 1      Locate Tax Parcel Information

You can search for your tax information by using your parcel ID (Section, Block, Lot), legal street address or bill number (located on the tax bill you received in the mail).

STEP 2      Review Information and Accept Terms

At this step, you will be asked to review your tax information and accept the Terms of Use for this transaction.

STEP 3      Complete the Contact and Pay Details

You will be prompted to enter your contact and billing information to pay your bill, the amounts and any additional information will be displayed.

STEP 4      Confirm Information

Review the information you provided in Step 3 and submit the payment. This is your opportunity to go back and make any changes before submitting the payment.

STEP 5      Digital Receipt

Once your payment has been submitted, you will receive your confirmation number and digital receipt. A confirmation email with the same information will also be sent to the email address that you provide.
