NYS Secretary of State to attend tomorrow's Town Board meeting (she's a resident of Greenburgh!)

New York State Secretary of State Rossana Rosado is honoring the Greenburgh Town Board with her presence at a meeting of the Greenburgh Town Board tomorrow evening, April 26 at 7:30 PM.   Secretary Rosado is a resident of the town of Greenburgh and holds one of the most prestigious positions in New York State government.  The Town Board will honor her at the meeting tomorrow evening.
 
Secretary Rosado was the first woman to serve as Editor and Publisher of the largest Spanish-language newspaper in the country, El Diario La Prensa. During her tenure she advocated in the paper's editorial pages for issues affecting a wide array of New Yorkers. She solidified the paper, and herself, as influential leaders for social and economic justice.
 
Secretary Rosado earned an Emmy Award, a STAR Award from the NY Women's Agenda, and a Peabody Award for Journalism.
 
Secretary Rosado  is a champion of prisoner re-entry initiatives and chairs Governor Cuomo's Council on Community Re-entry and Reintegration of New Yorkers returning from prison and served on Governor David Paterson's Task Force on Juvenile Justice. She has taught at Sing Sing and Otisville Correctional Facilities in New York State. She also served on the Board of the Port Authority of New York and New Jersey.
 
 
Governor Cuomo appointed Secretary Rosado to the position on February 3, 2016 and she was unanimously confirmed by the New York State Senate on June 15, 2016.          Her leadership has helped make the Department of State one of the most dynamic agencies in State government.
 
 The Secretary has focused on a host of issues that are vital to this State’s future, including business formation, economic development, immigration, prisoner re-entry, consumer protection and much more.
 
 
 
 
This is a reminder that there will be a Solarize workshop TONIGHT
April 25th at 7:00pm in the Theodore D. Young Community Center. Many Greenburgh residents have sought site assessments through this program in the previous several weeks. This event at the TDYCC is an opportunity to obtain information about the program (Solar installations for residential homes), if you missed prior events at Town Hall or the Greenburgh Nature Center.
