Colors Against Cancer" is a 5K color run that will take place on Sunday, May 15, 2016 from 9 am-12 pm at Edgemont High School and the surrounding neighborhoods.  This event was created by Edgemont senior Simrin Rawal as a tribute to Taylor Matthews, an Edgemont student who passed away after a five-year battle with cancer. Simrin has been working with the Tay-bandz Charity and helping coordinate the Relay for Tay event for many years, and after supporting the cause for many years and after personally experiencing the effects of cancer through family members, she realized that everyone in the community has been touched by cancer in some way and she wanted to bring the community together to fight this terrible disease. As they run, participants are showered with color powder, creating a beautiful rainbow of color.  This in itself is a tribute to Taylor as rainbows were one of her favorite sights.  We want to bring the community together  to support the fight against cancer, celebrate cancer survivors, and raise funds for cancer research.  Participants can walk, run, or jog!  We will donate the money we raise to three worthwhile organizations: Conquering Kidz Cancer/Tay-Bandz, The Avon Foundation for Breast Cancer Research, and The American Cancer Society.  Hope to see you at the race. And—a big thank you to Simrin for working hard to help others.  Simrin is a role model for all of us!

Thank you for taking your time to speak with me this morning regarding the  A Loan Modification Assistance “One on One Workshop“, that our agency  is hosting. We are offering  FREE Housing Counseling with regards to Mortgages at the  White Plains Education & Training Center located   303 Quarropas Street  White Plains, NY 10601 on April 27, 2016 from  9:30am – 7pm.  We have two Mortgage Servicers that will be there Ocwen and Wells Fargo.
 
I would appreciate it if you could share this information with your constituents or put a notice in your weekly bulletin. I have attached a copy of our flyer so you can post the flyer on the towns website as well as on the towns public access TV stations.
