The Dinner takes us to an upscale restaurant where two brothers and their wives are having a difficult conversation. Paul, a teacher on disability leave, has made a hash of his life. Now all he cares about is his wife and son. He really dislikes his older brother, Stan, a glad-handing Congressman heading towards election as Governor. They are there to discuss their sons, both teenage boys. The two pranked a homeless woman in a deserted ATM one night after a party, with deadly consequences. Their secret is safe, for now; no-one knows it was them. But how long can that last? What’s a parent to do? How far do you go to protect your children? Oh, and Paul stopped taking his 'meds' some weeks ago ...
Richard GereSteve Coogan, and Laura Linney play the parents struggling with right and wrong, ambition and conscience, anger and love.
