Release Date: December 02, 2015

FIRST OF MANY PUBLIC HEARINGS  ON PROPOSED JEFFERSON APARTMENT COMPLEX  (272 UNITS) JANUARY 13  AT 7:30 PM
GREENBURGH TOWN HALL   ( DRAFT SCOPING DOCUMENT ATTACHED)
IF YOU CAN'T ATTEND- PLEASE E MAIL YOUR CONCERNS AND SUGGESTIONS TO COMMISSIONER OF PLANNING AND TOWN BOARD
CONCERNS, RECOMMENDATIONS MUST BE REVIEWED AND CONSIDERED DURING REVIEW PROCESS

IF APPROVALS ARE GRANTED OR IF THERE WILL EVENTUALLY BE A COMPROMISE--WHAT ACTIONS SHOULD WE REQUIRE THE DEVELOPER TO TAKE TO MITIGATE CONCERNS (EXAMPLE: SIDEWALKS ON SAW MILL RIVER ROAD, WIDEN ROAD, ADDITIONAL PARKING IN DOWNTOWN ARDSLEY, OTHER TRAFFIC SAFETY IMPROVEMENTS)....EVERY SUGGESTION YOU MAKE WILL BE SERIOUSLY REVIEWED DURING THE PROCESS

Earlier this year a developer submitted plans to develop property on Lawrence Street off the Saw Mill River Parkway and to build a four story residential apartment building that would include a total of 272 apartments with 438 parking spaces. The Town Board is required to review the application. We have hired a consultant, Ferrandino & Associates Inc. of Elmsford, NY to assist in the review.  The Town Board has declared that the Proposed Action may result in one or more significant adverse impacts.  At our November 30th meeting, a draft Scoping Document was accepted for public review and comment. The Scoping Document will guide the preparation of the Draft Environmental Impact Statement (DEIS) which will be prepared by the Applicant. The draft scoping document is now available as a pdf on the Town website (WWW.GREENBURGHNY.COM), as a hard copy available for viewing at Town Hall (Town Clerk’s Office, Department of Community Development and Conservation), or as a hard copy at the Greenburgh Public Library.

The next step: A public hearing on the draft Scoping Document has been scheduled for Wednesday evening, January 13, 2015 at the Greenburgh Town Hall at 7:30 PM.

We want to hear from you. Based on your specific concerns about this project such as traffic, flooding, aesthetics, narrow-ness of Saw Mill River Road, impact to schools, lack of sidewalks, or something else, do you feel that the draft scope should be updated or expanded? If you have the time to attend the scoping hearing on the 13th that would be great, your comments on the draft scope would be welcomed.  If approvals are eventually given or if there are compromises - what actions should we ask the developer to take to mitigate the concerns (sidewalks, wider roads, traffic lights, additional parking in downtown Ardsley, etc...). What do your recommend.  If you cannot please e-mail or send your suggestions/comments for inclusion in the public record to Garrett Duquesne at
gduquesne@greenburghny.com. Please e mail townboard@greenburghny.com copies of your recommendations and concerns.
Thanks for being a partner in the decision making processes of your town government. Your input means a lot.
