The Greenburgh Town Board will hold a special meeting tomorrow morning at 8:45 AM to approve a 1.5 million plan to rehabilitate the Glenville water storage tank. In the near future we will rehabilitate additional water tanks located around the town. A citizens advisory committee has been reviewing short term and long term water district needs.
We are planning a number of initiatives in the coming years --addressing our water infrastructure so we can continue to provide residents of the town who purchase Greenburgh water with quality, clean and delicious water! Addressing infrastructure is expensive but necessary.
What do you get for $1.5 million? A one million gallon hydropillar storage tank that will continue to function. This water tank was originally built in 1995. John Devany of our water district advised the Board that it is typical for water tanks to need rehabilitation after 20 years.
There will be interior and exterior painting. Improvements: circulation of water. Minor steal and safety system repairs. engineer service. Painting inspections. Water tank mixing system to be added.
In the coming months I will highlight additional infrastructure improvements to be made for our water district. For more details visit the following link. The Glenville water district located near the Tarrytown border- close to the Sheraton/Marriott hotels.
