HALL OF FAME LEGEND EDDIE MURRAY TO APPEAR TOMORROW AT ELMSFORD LITTLE LEAGUE PARADE
Release Date: April 17, 2015

Eddie Murray
2003 Baseball Hall of Fame (1st Ballot)  tomorrow's Grand Marshall!

The highlight of the year for many residents of Greenburgh is the annual Elmsford Little League Parade. The parade, which will be held tomorrow morning in Elmsford at 10 AM, is known for their ability to attract celebrity Grand Marshalls. The Little League field is located at Rumbrook park --one of the parks the Greenburgh parks department oversees.

Last year we got to meet Yankees great Mariano Rivera. The year before: Paul O'Neill, Yankees right fielder.  In 2012 the Elmsford Little League Grand Marshall was legendary Dodger's manager Tommy Lasorda. And, in 2011 the Grand Marshal was Daryl Strawberry.  Rich Wurtzburger has been doing a fantastic job of making the Elmsford Little League parade a destination parade for some of the all time greats.  And, the coaches, players, Greenburgh recreation department, village of Elmsford, parents of Little League players deserve our thanks for supporting a great Little League team.  Hopefully, one of the Little League players will eventually become a future great and can come back to Elmsford and be Grand Marshall in the future!

So---who is the great baseball player coming to town tomorrow morning?

HALL OF FAME LEGEND TO BE GRAND MARSHALL

The 2015 Elmsford Little League Opening Day Parade is sure to be a very special and memorable one.  As this year's Little Leaguers, Coaches and Umpires make their way through town escorted by the Elmsford Police & Fire Departments, there will be a very special Grand Marshall for our 61st Opening Day waving to all the fans while perched up in a classic convertible & loosening up his arm to throw out the first pitch.

This former Oriole, Dodger & Met was inducted on the first year of eligibility into the National Baseball Hall of Fame in 2003.  He was only the 3rd player in MLB history to ever record over 500 home runs and 3,000 hits (along with Hank Aaron & Willie Mays) during his career.  He is the MLB career leader for RBI by a switch hitter with 1,917.  He hit home runs from both sides of the plate in the same game 11 times, which was an MLB record until recently broken by Mark Texeira.  It is an honor to have Eddie Murray as this year's Grand Marshall.
