On Thursday the town will install a solar hot water heating system at the Theodore Young Community Center. The hot water heating solar heating system will heat our indoor pool all year round. Our acquatic program activities provide services for youth, elderly and disabled residents.
The town received a $169,000 grant from the United States Department of Energy to install the solar heating system. We also received a grant of $56,250 from the Lanza Family Foundation for this exciting green initiative. The installation of the solar hot water system will take about two weeks.
ANOTHER GREEN INITIATIVE AT THE THEODORE YOUNG COMMUNITY CENTER--New LED gym lights were installed at our new gym floor at the TDYCC yesterday.
