ASHFORD AVE BRIDGE TO BE REBUILT
Release Date: July 07, 2004

For the 3rd time since I’ve held office the county plans to overhaul the Ashford Ave bridge which connects Ardsley and Dobbs Ferry over the state Thruway and the Saw Mill River Parkway. Work was last done in 1992 ($1.5 million). But, now the county has budgeted over $9 million to rebuild the bridge (full deck replacement). The work will start in 2006. The county had received some “red safety flags” issued by the state DOT after inspections. Concrete had detached from the underside of the bridge. Expect more traffic delays….
