ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT UPDATES--CONDO TO BE BUILT , new homes, demolishing WESTHAB

Some economic development updates.
The Esplanade, a 51 unit luxury condo which received Planning Board approval over a year ago is about to commence work. The developers met with staff and went over a few things prior to their start. The location is across central Avenue from Mid-Central Shopping Plaza. This is in the Central 7 school district.
Rabin/Alexander Downing Drive West subdivision has completed their process with the Planning Board and is approved for 10 new homes with 2 existing homes. The property is adjacent to Dobbs Ferry Road near Metropolis Country Club.
The Westhab project has commenced today with demolition of the first building. The Fairview Fire Department was present today performing training exercises for firefighters on the building to be torn down. The demolition work should be completed this week. They have a building permit so construction of the new apartment building can begin right after the demolition.
Jade Garden, at 156 Central Avenue will be remodeled by a new lessee and converted into a sports bar. The work should commence shortly.
