Make your donations now and then plan to attend one of the largest book sales in the area between October 1 and October 5. There will be a special “members only” evening at the sale on the Friday, October 1. Applications for membership are accepted anytime and will also be accepted on the evening of October 1. Annual membership in the Friends of the Greenburgh Library costs $5.00 and applications are available online at http://greenburghlibrary.org/friends.phpor in the Library. The Greenburgh Police Dept and CERT are sponsoring a blood drive, with the Greenburgh Library on July 30th from 10 AM to 5 PM. This is being coordinated with the Red Cross (kaneth@usa.redcross.org).
WHAT DO YOU THINK ABOUT THIS IDEA---A TOWN WIDE FLEA MARKET SALE?  A suggestion was made by Winsome Gordon of our philanthropy dept and Alan Hochberg to organize a town wide flea market at Town Hall or at another municipal building in October. The town would charge vendors a fee to set up a table  so they could sell their items. Other communities in the region have successful flea markets. The purpose: To raise private dollars to enable us to fund worthy projects within the town. Another benefit: a sense of small town community. The idea is a follow up –after our very successful barbeque honoring veterans of Greenburgh.  If you have any thoughts or would like to participate in a committee that will plan the event, please e mail me at pfeiner@greenburghny.com
